Math kids!

After lunch the kids are able to color in their notebooks or play with playdough (a highlight of the day!)  Lately though the kids have been creating and solving their own addition problems instead!  It makes me smile every day!

Thank you George Washington Carver!

We are learning about the plant doctor: George Washington Carver!  He taught us about crop rotation and how planting peanuts actually helps the soil!  Since people didn't know what to do with peanuts he invented 300 ways to use them including peanut butter!  In class, we made regular peanut butter and chocolate peanut butter!  Thank you George Washington Carver!

Guacamole!

Dr. Katie was in our class this week to teach us about healthy fats!  She did a great demonstration on what unhealthy fats do our arteries (clog them up so blood can't get to and from our heart) and what healthy fats do (clean our our arteries so our heart doesn't have to work as much.) Then we made guacamole (a healthy fat) and chopped up veggies to go with it!

Happy Birthday Mrs. Claudia!

Thank you to everyone who sent in cards and gifts to help make Mrs. Claudia's birthday such a special day!  The kids and I had fun decorating the class and throwing her a surprise party!

SUPER strong magnet!

Mr. Derick came in today with a super strong magnet!  The kids loved seeing what it could do!
