Peanut butter!

We have been learning about George Washington Carver these past few days and all of the wonderful things he taught us about farming.  "The Plant Doctor" taught us that if we just plant cotton it takes nutrients out of our soil so we need to rotate our cotton crops with peanuts or sweet potatoes.  People laughed at peanuts because at that time no one knew what to do with peanuts.  So Dr. carver invented over 300 uses for them...including peanut butter!  So today we made peanut butter AND chocolate peanut butter!  Thank you George Washington Carver!

Magnetic Goo

Sorry there are a "kazillion" pictures here but this was the first year I have done this experiment and it was so awesome!  We made magnetic goo!  We used glue, water, liquid starch, and iron oxide!  The goo was fun to play with on its own but the most incredible part was when it would come close to a magnet.  It would consume it slowly but quickly enough to hold our attention!  Hopefully the kiddos enjoyed it as much as I did!

St. Patrick's Day Shenanigans

All of the hard work on our traps and the leprechauns still foiled up!  But they did leave behind some jewels AND they left us clues for how to find their treasure!  We had a fun day cleaning up, hunting a leprechaun, finding gold, and learning how to read our color words!

Look what that silly leprechaun did to our class!

The leprechaun put a new face on the "leprechaun catching zombie!"

St. Patrick's day girls!

Glitter was EVERYWHERE!

That silly leprechaun tricked us into looking for his gold outside!

We found the gold!

We each got to pick 2 things from the leprechaun's pot!

We lined up Skittles in the order of the rainbow to see if you could really "Taste the Rainbow".  We decided no because it is missing blue!

We practiced reading our color words to make a beautiful picture!
