Spring Party

We had an egg-cellent spring party today!!  We got to have some yummy fruit kebabs, make a bunny hat, and go on an egg hunt!  What a great day with my little bunnies!

Water!!

Dr. Katie was in this week teaching us about the importance of water for our kidneys!  We also did an experiment to see how much sugar is in juice, milk, chocolate milk, and soda...yikes!

St. Patrick's Day

We had a visitor in our class today!  A naughty leprechaun!  He made a mess of our class but when we cleaned up we discovered his pot of gold!!

We learned about the colors of a rainbow using Skittles!

Then we decided if it was "true" or "not true" that you could "Taste the Rainbow"!  Most kids said not true because it is missing blue!

Math kids!

After lunch the kids are able to color in their notebooks or play with playdough (a highlight of the day!)  Lately though the kids have been creating and solving their own addition problems instead!  It makes me smile every day!

Thank you George Washington Carver!

We are learning about the plant doctor: George Washington Carver!  He taught us about crop rotation and how planting peanuts actually helps the soil!  Since people didn't know what to do with peanuts he invented 300 ways to use them including peanut butter!  In class, we made regular peanut butter and chocolate peanut butter!  Thank you George Washington Carver!

Guacamole!

Dr. Katie was in our class this week to teach us about healthy fats!  She did a great demonstration on what unhealthy fats do our arteries (clog them up so blood can't get to and from our heart) and what healthy fats do (clean our our arteries so our heart doesn't have to work as much.) Then we made guacamole (a healthy fat) and chopped up veggies to go with it!
