Since I will be gone for a few days we did an Artist "Two days!"  The kids had a blast recreating famous pieces of art and putting their own twist on them!  We read a book called Ish and learned that we didn't have to be perfect!  We did things...ish!!

Welcome Home!

We arrived in North America today!  The kids are so excited to be home because they missed their families and their toys!  We had a great trip around the world and can't wait to do it again someday!

Teachers are excited to be back too!!

Australia and Africa!

We had a great time in Australia and Africa this week!  In Australia, we hopped around with the kangaroos and we did dot art on the Sydney Opera House!  In Africa we went on a safari to see some really cool animals!  And we had some visitors read us a story about Africa!

South America, Europe, Asia, and Antarctica!

Traveling with 18 4, 5, and 6 year olds is so fun!!  We have had a blast traveling to 4 different continents today!  In South America we went to the rainforest and saw some great animals!  We also ate coconut and did a trip down the Amazon River!  I didn't seem to get any pictures though!

From there we went to Europe and learned some Polish from Ms. Krys, ate a baguette while sketching the Eiffel Tower, searched for Nessie in Scotland, and sang Mama Mia in Greece!

Then we were off to Asia where we got Henna tattoos in the Middle East, learned how to use chopsticks in Japan, and saw some elephants in Thailand do some amazing tricks!

We ended the week in Antarctica where we saw lots and lots of penguins, ate snow, and had a snowball fight!

Around the world!

Here we come world!  We made our passports, suitcases, and plane tickets today so we are ready for our kindergarten adventure around the world to learn about the continents!

Applesauce day!

We dove straight into our Core Knowledge learning in week 2!  We got to learn about Johnny Appleseed! The kids loved hearing tales of him crawling into logs with bears, walking across the USA with a pot on his head, and planting appleseeds everywhere he went! To celebrate our learning, we had an apple tasting and made applesauce!
We chopped apples for the applesauce!

We got to create a Johnny Appleseed picture with stickers!

We illustrated and read an apple book while we waited for the applesauce to cook!

We ate applesauce with Johnny Appleseed!

We had extra applesauce so I made some applesauce muffins and apple butter for the kids to try!

Most kiddos liked red best for our apple tasting!

Eclipse Fun!

We started the year off in an exciting way!  With a solar eclipse!  We got to learn all about the sun, moon, and our Earth and what exactly a solar eclipse means!  And thanks to Grease Monkey giving us a class set of glasses, we got to go out and see what all of the fuss was about!  It was really cool to have it be so dark in the middle of the day!
