St. Patrick's Day celebration!

We were scientists to see if Skittle really had all of the colors of the rainbow.  We learned it is "not true" because they are missing blue and indigo!

We ate shamrock cookies!

A naughty leprechaun trashed our classroom looking for his gold!

We had to clean up the room to try to find the missing pot of gold!

We found the treasure!

We were so kind to the leprechaun that he turned nice and brought us little hats and pots for our treasure!

We learned about the Blarney Stone in Ireland and practiced kissing it!

Today we had to use teamwork, problem solving, compromise, and creativity to create a leprechaun trap.  Fingers crossed that on Monday we will catch one!

Money

We had Eva Gaudio from Elevation's Credit Union come to our class to talk to us about money.  We had fun and learned lots!

She gave each kid a marshmallow and told them that they could not eat it until the very end.  This was a way to learn will power.  If they followed the directions, then at the end of the presentation they would get an extra marshmallow!  Some kids did great, others ended up eating a few nibbles!

Smooshing, not eating, the marshmallow!

It was really hard to have will power!

This was s different interpretation of not eating the marshmallow...just wrap it in a napkin then put the napkin in your mouth!
We learned all kinds of things about money and we are now ready to spend some money, share some money, and save some money!

Writing Questions

My sister, Ms. Audrey, came to visit us!  Since we are learning about how to be good writers and she is a writer, she was able to answer questions!  Each kid prepared a question and was able to ask Ms. Audrey.  We had so much fun!
