Animal Expo
In February, 25 teachers across Colorado were invited to participate in a pilot program through the Jane Goodall Roots and Shoots program to implement service learning in schools. Two teachers from our school were chosen and we decided to have our classes do the project together. The kids decided that we have lots of animals in our community but not a lot of organizations that help with animals. We decided to learn all that we could about animals and tell people about it at an Expo. The Expo was on Saturday and was awesome. People set up booths to teach about animals or offer animal services and the kids helped out with the craft, concession stand, and talking to people. The reptile booth was definitely a favorite and the kids loved to hold Marvin the snake!!
