The Declaration of Independence

We have been learning about Thomas Jefferson this week!  To learn about the Declaration of Independence, we got to use our quills to sign our own copy!  Then we colored it yellow and crumpled it up to make it look old!  Some kids signed their name big like John Hancock while others signed their name small!!

The SAINTS should have been in the Superbowl Party!

Even though the SAINTS did not officially win the NFC Championship, we thought they should have so we had a party to celebrate the SAINTS anyway!  We got T-shirts, made bracelets, got our faces painted, took pictures with paper Mark Ingram and guinea pig Mark Ingram, did some student led crafts, had a pinata, had a dance party, AND had a special video message from the human Mark Ingram!  It was a pretty epic party and even made the news in New Orleans! https://wgno.com/2019/01/31/raising-saints-fans-in-broncos-territory/

Paper Airplane Contest

Today we tested our courage and perseverance with a paper airplane contest!  We learned how to fold our planes and also how to stick with it and keep trying even if it was hard.  We also learned how we may not get things right the first time but that's ok...we still keep trying!

Wright Brothers

We are learning about the Wright Brothers this week and the first flight!  And, thanks to my wonderful Southwest Airlines flight attendant, we had lots of airplane goodies to help us learn about airplanes now vs the Wright Brothers first airplane!
