Happy Birthday, Dr. Seuss!

We had such a fun "read across America day" to celebrate the birthday of one of our favorite authors, Dr. Seuss!

We all got to be The Cat in the Hat!

Our wonderful room mom, Mrs. Jayme, made us Dr. Seuss birthday treats! We got to choose from The Cat in the Hat hats or a One Fish Two Fish Red Fish Blue Fish treat!

Cheers with our treats!

The Cat in the Hat loves his treat!

We got to read lots of stories by Dr. Seuss!

The fifth graders read to us too!

So clever!

Every day since the beginning of the year, the kids have brought out class hula hoops with them outside for recess.  Usually the fun has been in bringing them out and bringing them back in because they really didn't know how to hula hoop so nobody played with them!  The decided to get creative and have turned the hula hoops into boats, fishing poles, and "air hockey sticks"!  I told them that they looked like they were playing lacrosse!  So creative!

Magnets, time, and money!

It might have been an overly ambitious week to try to tackle magnets, time, and money but the kids loved it and we learned a TON!
Building clocks!

"Shopping"

Experimenting with what repelling and attracting!

The National Anthem

The kids sang the National Anthem at a Colorado Crush arena football game over the weekend and totally nailed it!  They were amazing!  Afterwards we got to enjoy the fun game!  Go Crush!

We got to eat in the lunchroom for the first time today!  It was so much fun!!

Fun with the news!

We are famous!!  Our class was on Channel 7 news earlier in the week and we will be on Fox 31 News tonight!  The kids are doing so good with the cameras and being interviewed!

Here is the write up from Channel 7 news!  I still have not found the video!
