My observation
I had my observation yesterday where an administrator came in to observe a RIGGS lesson. The kids were not only fantastic, but at the end of the lesson they got out their crayons and build their sight words. The funny thing is that we have never done this before...they just started doing it on their own!
Elbow Grease
We talked about using "elbow grease" to clean our desks and table to get everything off! This is how they interpreted it!!
Pere Noel
We are learning about Holiday traditions around the world! On Monday we learned about a tradition from France where boys and girls put their shoes in the hallway when they go to sleep and Pere Noel (a friend of Santa's) leaves a treat for them in their shoes. We tried it during rest time and it worked! We each had a candy cane in our shoes!

We got to rest without our shoes on! |
When we checked our shoes there were candy canes in them! |

Kindergarten Author's Day
For the past 2 months, we have been writing and illustrating our own version of Snow White! The books were just "published" with kids winning a Newbury Honor for great words or Caldecott Honor for great pictures. We even had a first place winner in each category! On Monday we had an author's day where we got to read all of the books and celebrate with hot chocolate and cookies after. The kids also got to autograph their books!
